MCED 2009

Friday, November 21st, 2008

This is going to be a challenging year for our businesses and in turn, our community. Collaboration between industry, government and education are critical components in our short and long-term strategies for job retention and growth.

The economy will eventually rebound but the big question is when and what business sectors will lead the way?

Montgomery County Economic Development (MCED) recently awarded their “Bright Star Award” for Outstanding Corporate Citizenship to Vectren Corporation, the county’s natural gas provider.

“Giving back to the communities in which we live, work and serve is at the very heart of our company values,” said Vectren’s director of economic development Ron Keeping. “We’re honored to be receiving this award and thank the residents of Montogomery County for this recognition.”

Vectren Corporation has given generously to educational programs through Wabash College, Crawfordsville and South Montgomery Schools in addition to reaching out to various nonprofits such as the Montgomery United Fund for You (MUFFY) and the Area IV Agency on Aging.
