Bright Star Award Given to Vectren Corporation
Montgomery County Economic Development (MCED) recently awarded their “Bright Star Award” for Outstanding Corporate Citizenship to Vectren Corporation, the county’s natural gas provider.
“Giving back to the communities in which we live, work and serve is at the very heart of our company values,” said Vectren’s director of economic development Ron Keeping. “We’re honored to be receiving this award and thank the residents of Montogomery County for this recognition.”
Vectren Corporation has given generously to educational programs through Wabash College, Crawfordsville and South Montgomery Schools in addition to reaching out to various nonprofits such as the Montgomery United Fund for You (MUFFY) and the Area IV Agency on Aging.
“Vectren has also been instrumental in helping large industries expand within the Montgomery County area over the past several years,” said MCED Director Bill Henderson.
Vectren is an energy holding company whose headquarters is in Evansville, IN. Vectren’s energy delivery subsidiaries provide gas and or electricity to more than one million customers in adjoining service territories that cover nearly two-thirds of Indiana and West Central Ohio.
