MCED Board of Directors

      Long time member, Monty Harris accepted the nomination and was unanimously elected to serve as President of the MCED Board.  John Greavu will be Vice President and Roy Kaser will remain the Secretary/Treasurer. President Harris appointed Jim Luzar Community Development chair on the Executive Board.

The directors are an essential part of our organization, thanks for what you do for MCED and the community. All of us at MCED welcome newly appointed Board members; County Councilman Richard Chastain and Wabash College President, Patrick White. We also welcome Akers Construction as our newest partner in Project “Bright Future”.

 Nucor Road Industrial Corridor 

      Robust development continues in the Corridor and potential new industry projects are becoming more and more frequent. In collaboration with Nucor, we were able to place full page marketing ads for the corridor in the January issues of Site Selection and Business Xpansion magazines.

County officials and IDEM are moving forward with the Sewer District. The community meeting went well with American Consulting doing a great job of answering questions for the public.

     We expect approval of the district soon to begin the process of identifying a private developer to build and operate the sewer district system. 

  Regional Initiatives

 Our MCED board of directors hosted the regional WIRED director at our December Board meeting. The WIRED initiative is a regional workforce and economic development project to help regions work together to enable us to compete in the new global economy.
