The first half of 2008 saw the grand opening of the Dixie Chopper Distribution Center in Waveland, and the ground breaking for the St. Clare Cancer Center in Crawfordsville.

Governor Mitch Daniels joined Dixie Chopper, RGT, County Officials and MCED, to celebrate the opening of the 150,000 square foot logistics facility already busy shipping Indiana made lawn mowers across the country.

As a reminder, county & school officials are requesting that we pay our property  taxes on time even though the invoices have not been prepared. Industry taxes are a large part of our tax base and we hope that you will consider working with the county and arrange to make those payments as a good faith initiative. Thanks on behalf of the schools and the county for your consideration.

We are starting to see new projects increase which should be a good sign for the rest of the year. Our board has done a good job of getting us ready for business and we are optimistic about development this year in both the Nucor Road Industrial Corridor and the Crawfordsville Commerce Park.

The Board of Directors for Montgomery County Economic Development is made up of a diverse cross section of volunteers, organizations, elected officials and our business partners.
